Welcome to RAWS
On 1 July 2021, the Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018 (RVSA) commenced in full and replaced the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 (MVSA). On this date, a 24-month transitional period also began for certain segments of the industry.
During the transitional period, as an MVSA-approved RAW you could continue to operate as normal and access vehicles on the MVSA SEVs Register and Interim SEVs List.
The transitional period ended on 30 June 2023. After this date, you need to be a RVSA approved RAW to operate as a registered automotive workshop. It takes up to 30 business days to assess an application to become a RVSA RAW and all applications need to be made through ROVER.
For information on how to become and operate as a RVSA RAW, visit the Registered automotive workshops webpage.
